The revolution of addiction work
Dear brothers and sisters, are you tired of the struggle to quit drinking and feeling trapped in the cycle of addiction? You’re not alone. There is so much struggle in the realm of addiction when people try to quit from addiction. But what if I told you that there is something better than the quitting model?
It’s time to revolutionize our approach to addiction. At Addiction Alchemy, we don’t focus on trying to quit addiction. Instead, we emphasize building ourselves in a way that allows us to transform addiction into our greatest advantage. When we create a new understanding of ourselves and addiction we have the power to turn addiction into a powerful strength.
What if instead of viewing addiction as a prison, we could turn it into a greater force that works to our advantage? In this article, we will discuss the limitations of traditional quitting methods, introduce the unique concept of Addiction Alchemy, and explore how you can turn your experiences into your greatest strengths.
Transforming Addiction: Addressing the First Stumbling Block in Your Journey to Recovery
The first obstacle that we have when we approach addiction, is obsessing too much with the behavior. The behavior is a byproduct of our conditioning.
We must meet individuals and learn to understand their unique experiences. By doing so, we can help turn addiction into their greatest advantage.
We have to shift our focus from the behavior to learning to understand ourselves. Self-knowledge is key in addiction work. It’s your ticket to freedom.
It’s about creating a roadmap that leads to the desired results. What do we want? We want to be in a state of creation. We don’t just want to survive addiction; we aim to build a fulfilling life afterward and turn addiction into our greatest advantage.
Following mainstream narratives about addiction won’t lead to true recovery. That’s why we must create a new understanding of addiction and seek knowledge beyond traditional sources
We take action based on what we believe to be true. For example, if I believe that addiction is a disease, I may struggle to turn it into an advantage because my actions wouldn’t align with that belief.
This phenomenon shows that our beliefs create our reality, while the information we consume shapes those beliefs.
In other words, We must elevate our understanding of addiction to encourage healthier beliefs and create a path toward true transformation. The true transformation involves turning addiction into your greatest advantage.
Why Traditional Quitting Models Fail: Insights into Addiction Recovery
Resistance
The first problem and maybe the biggest problem in the quitting model, is the resistance. There will be tremendous resistance when you try to quit on something that has been giving you a lot of pleasure.
The resistance is the last thing that you want when you try to do something challenging. It’s hard to live a good life if we are in constant resistance with our lives. The resistance is the womb of suffering.
By definition, resistance means not being in harmony with something. It’s the state of friction. We are not in a state of acceptance, and we are not in harmony with our lives.
Being in harmony is our natural state. It’s the state of creation and health. Resistance is the state of survival. We have to create a model that operates from the state of creation because we don’t want to survive, we want to create.
Quitting: the wrong focus
The second problem is the wrong focus. If we don’t have the right focus we can’t have the right results. Focusing only on quitting behavior can be counterproductive. This approach often leads to lousy results.
Indeed, the evidence is clear. Studies show that the success rate for rehab programs is only about 20%, with just one in five individuals managing to quit addiction permanently.”
The problem with focusing only on behavior is that behavior stems from our thoughts and feelings. Our subconscious narratives shape those thoughts and feelings.
It doesn’t make sense to tell someone to stop a particular behavior because they have already made that decision internally. The decisions have already been made and it’s subconscious that does the choosing.
We will achieve better results when we focus on changing the machine that makes the decisions. Instead of concentrating on the actions of the machine, we should aim to transform its underlying mechanics.
By understanding this, there is nothing wrong with addiction. It’s the natural outcome of our deeper programming. When we learn to understand our subconscious programming and make upgrades, we create a reality where sobriety arises naturally. We no longer have to force ourselves to be without addiction. With this new programming, sobriety becomes an effortless part of our lives.
Life goals
This point is similar to the issue of wrong focus, but it is essential to mention it. Understanding this distinction can greatly impact your journey toward sobriety. The next problem with the quitting model is that it distorts the purpose of your life.
Many people adopt a mindset where the main goal is simply to stop engaging in a particular behavior or substance. This approach can create challenging circumstances in life.
It’s no surprise that many people struggle to find happiness after quitting. When their primary aim is to eliminate something that once brought them significant pleasure or relief, it can lead to feelings of deprivation and disappointment.
The surprising truth about addiction is that it is not a problem, but a solution. Addiction arises not because behaviors are inherently addictive, but because they meet certain needs in one’s life. Often, these behaviors provide relief from pain. By focusing on why you have the pain, you can begin to dissolve your addiction.
“Don’t ask why the addiction, ask why the pain.” -Gabor Mate To understand people’s pain, you have to understand their lives. In other words, addiction is a normal response to trauma.”
Think about this more deeply. Does it make sense to set a goal to eliminate a behavior that has been a solution in your life? I believe it doesn’t.
Please don’t misunderstand me—I’m not suggesting that you continue your addictive behavior. Instead, I want you to shift your approach to addiction. Don’t focus only on the behavior as the solution. Instead, focus on understanding what needs the behavior fulfills.
We should set life goals based on what we want to build for ourselves. It’s essential to focus correctly on addiction work.
This begins with understanding the underlying reasons for our need for addictive behaviors. We also need to learn to be okay with ourselves.
When you are comfortable in your own skin and at peace with your life, I promise you, my friend, you will no longer have to face addictions.
In my opinion, these are the most significant problems with traditional quitting models. The effects of these factors can be devastating in one’s life.
However, I don’t want to focus only on the problems. I want to discuss solutions.
Let me introduce you to Addiction Alchemy, a model that transforms your addiction into your greatest advantage.”
The Addiction Alchemy
The Addiction Alchemy. A beautiful system that makes you fall in love with your life and yourself. The main target of Addiction Alchemy is love. The realm of addiction is the pain-related world. The goal is to transition from a pain-related world to a love-related world.
In addiction, you do everything because of pain. In a love-related world, you do everything because of love. In the addiction world, you come from pain and in the love-related world, you come from love. That’s the difference.
You are the generator of your life. So if we can change the nature of the generator we can turn a pain-related world into a love-related world. What can a better than experiencing love in your life? Who doesn’t want that?
The problem is that many people believe the only way to experience love is through another person. However, let me tell you something: there is a force within you that holds an enormous amount of love. Let me introduce the system that helps you to find that force.
The first stage of Addiction Alchemy: Winning environment
The biggest mistake in trying to create sobriety? We often attempt to achieve it in an environment that promotes addiction. Instead, we must cultivate a space that creates the effects that lead to sobriety.
“Sobriety is not the way of living, but the outcome of the way of living.”
The environment we build for ourselves is the foundation of Addiction Alchemy. It’s about approaching sobriety just as athletes approach their sport.
We become athletes of sobriety, and with the right environment, we can become champions of our recovery.
When I refer to environment, I mean our lifestyle, habits, relationships, attitudes, mental habits, sleep hygiene, physical health, mental health, and physical surroundings. When we build our lives to produce the effects of sobriety, we can release the fear of relapse.
The beauty of this stage is that fear of returning to old ways diminishes. If you consistently do the right things, sobriety becomes an inevitable outcome. This illustrates the beauty of the law of cause and effect.
So, what are the causes that lead to sobriety? I would say the number one cause is being comfortable in your own skin. When you learn to understand yourself, you will experience the effect of that comfort.
The purpose of this phase is to create a winning environment that establishes a strong foundation for your sobriety. Just like an athlete, you must cultivate an environment that helps you become a champion of sobriety.
The second stage of Addiction Alchemy: New awareness of addiction
In the beginning, I mentioned the importance of upgrading our information about addiction to foster better beliefs. The second stage focuses specifically on enhancing our understanding of addiction.
Here, we create a new awareness about what addiction truly is. This awareness leads to better actions. It’s about learning to understand addiction on a deeper level, exploring why people develop addictions, and identifying the typical causes.
In this stage, I guide you to comprehend the nature of addiction and reveal the surprising truth of why it is possible to transform addiction into your greatest advantage. This stage is crucial for building strong foundations. Without proper understanding, we cannot take the right actions that lead us to our desired destination.
The third stage of Addiction Alchemy: Learning to understand yourself
This may be the most essential part of Addiction Alchemy. It involves beginning a journey of deep self-understanding and exploring the events in your life that contributed to your addiction. It’s about building clear self-understanding. It’s almost like you learn to know a new person. You discover the part of you that you didn’t know.
In this stage, I provide you with the tools to identify the root causes of your addiction. With a greater understanding of ourselves, we gain the power to create better lives.
The fourth stage of Addiction Alchemy: Dissolution of the addiction
With a deeper understanding, we can begin the process of dissolving addiction. It’s no longer about simply trying to quit. When we learn to understand the addictive part of ourselves, we can help it heal from its wounds.
This is the magic of dissolving addiction. You only have to try to be sober if the addictive part of you still exists. The goal is to help that part heal, creating a life where sobriety arises naturally. We no longer need to struggle to be without addiction. We dissolve it by understanding the part of ourselves that has the addiction.
Addiction is fundamentally an internal problem. When we feel dysfunction in our internal world, we often resort to external coping mechanisms for relief. By nurturing a beautiful internal life, the need for addictive behaviors begins to fade.
This stage is directly linked to the third stage of Addiction Alchemy. When we understand ourselves, we gain the ability to dissolve our addiction. This understanding is the greatest gift an individual can give themselves.
Experiencing the dissolution of addiction brings a sense of real freedom that no external achievement can compare to.
The purpose of this stage is to dissolve addiction through understanding and acceptance of the part of ourselves that has the addiction. Love and acceptance are crucial paths toward dissolving addiction.
Additionally, this stage establishes the foundation for your alchemical process. It is, in essence, the heart of true Addiction Alchemy. We are the architects of our lives, and this stage focuses on adjusting the settings of our inner generator. This new generator will lead to a transformed external life. In other words, you can transform your addiction into something greater.
The fifth stage of Addiction Alchemy: Transition to a love-related world
Now that we have changed our inner generator, we can transition into a love-related world. This stage is about transforming our external environment and pursuing our dreams. By listening to our hearts, we can convert the energy from addiction into actions that fulfill our true desires.
Life becomes enriched with experiences that put us in a flow state. Destructive habits are transformed into constructive ones, improving our lives and making the world a better place. This transformation turns our lives upside down as our perceived weaknesses become our greatest advantages, allowing us to thrive in a love-centered world.
The purpose of this stage is to follow your dreams and start building the life your soul truly desires. This is what we refer to as the love-related world.
The formula is ready; all you need to do now is execute it. Implementation is key. By starting with small changes in your daily life, you can achieve significant transformations.
In summary, Addiction Alchemy is a system designed to turn addiction into your greatest advantage by helping you understand the root causes of your addiction. When we learn to identify these causes, we gain the power to transform them into something greater.
This was just a brief introduction to Addiction Alchemy. We’ve only scratched the surface of this transformative system, and I will be diving deeper into each stage in upcoming blog articles. If this resonates with you, I hope to see you in the next posts!
Until then, I wish you all the best on your journey.
